@idaho_free @ajthecpa1226 I'm that easy with my staff, but when it comes to me, I don't always give myself permission. I don't have kids, but my husband becomes a tax season widow. I don't get home until long after he's in bed, and he leaves before I'm awake.
So very true. And these clients are good but will move on quickly when you’re not there to help.
So the next time you wonder what’s taking your tax pro so long or demand everything has to be done on a compressed deadline; we’re humans doing our absolute best. Our families are paying a “tax” as well and we should be allowed some grace while we give you our best.
@ajthecpa1226 The family functions part is non-negotioable at my firm. I tell my employees that if I find out they skipped a recital or kid's game, in order to work... they're fired (tongue in cheek of course - but they know family is priority all the time)

A deadline for thee but not for me.
Just a reminder that April 15th is about 4-6 weeks prior to the date the IRS can manage to release wage and income transcripts, which is just simple forms data and almost entirely electronically transmitted.
