Northeast Ohio is a special place. IYKYK. Good read by Chad about how those roots shaped Mike Vrabel.

A trip to Mike Vrabel’s hometown reveals fun stories on the Patriots head coach. On high school Vrabel and the town that shaped him: nytimes.com/athletic/70183…

Jimmy Haslam defrauded hardworking truck drivers for millions of dollars and it was only like the 17th worst thing he’s done during his time on earth

One league source tells me tonight that DC Jim Schwartz seems to be gaining momentum in the #Browns head coach search. Stay tuned.

Owner spends all this money for all these guys and their processes, just to turn around and ignore them to do what he wants to do. Absolute joke of a franchise. Won’t ever change until he sells the team.

Holding up your whole organization to keep the defensive coordinator who helped you win 9 games over two seasons and was 29-51 the last time he was a head coach (w/ Matthew Stafford at QB) is pure Haslaming. The phrase “on brand” has never been so perfectly applicable. No notes.

This franchise has zero positive equity around the NFL and continue to make a mockery of their own processes. Have fun.

We have a chess game going on here around this #Browns vacancy. With the news of a #Bills interview tonight hitting in the midst of Nate Scheelhasse's interview with Cleveland, the goal appears to be to harvest leverage to mitigate any potential hesitation. The #Browns need to make the right decision, and not lean into any potential gamesmanship. He's either ready, or he's not. Jobs will be impacted by what happens next.

DePodesta’s process been used in 4 Browns searches & told team to: 2017: Hire Sean McDermott (Haslam ignored, went w/ Hue) 2019: Hire Stefanski (Dorsey won w/ Kitchens) 2020: Hire Stefanski (2-time COY) Now 2026 Look at conclusions it reached & pls explain why it’s so bad.

(It does not surprise me that there appears to be either a lack of intentional direction or two competing visions. That's kind of been Haslam's whole deal for a decade and a half now.)

this is awesome to hear about how data-driven the browns head coaching search has been. it seems like they're collecting a ton of information on each candidate which feels like good process from andrew berry & co.. it's generally better to have more insights than less. am sure they have some pretty cool coaching models and metrics in-house as well it feels optimal to walk out with grant udinski or nate scheelhaase as the head coach with jim schwartz still the DC (if that's what the new HC wants)

I’ll never forget walking by him as he told a VP of the team, who was trying to help him, to go F themselves. Then there was the expletive filled tirade at a few of us in the parking lot following a Progressive Insurance promo presser we covered. The levels of disrespect and immaturity he showed to people was off the rails at times. So yeah. Don’t blame #Browns from moving on, but how they did it was a disaster.

The Browns’ assessment of Baker was spot on. Their solution was catastrophic. But the original assessment (wildly immature, good but not great) was exactly right.

Mixed emotions on Stefanski's final day with the Browns. He helped modernize and stabilize a team that was the laughing stock of the league. He made them competitive on the field with Pittsburgh and Baltimore - something that was previously a foreign concept. He got the most out of an immature, undersized Baker. But he was unable to to seize control of a locker room that had too many egos and too many bad character guys. He couldn't motivate or hold players/assistants accountable. He couldn't figure out a way to access Watson's gifts or rebuild his confidence. And after that he was doomed with horrific QB options and too many bad drafts, with a GM that couldn't overcome the Watson swing despite an limitless bank account. Culminating in this year's 4-QB farce that no other team would ever sign off on. Thanks for 2020 and 2023. The best memories a lot of us have had with the Browns (sadly)

Myles Garrett has 0 sacks…. But absolutely had the biggest effect on the game because the Steelers decided that stopping him from getting the sack record was more important than playing offense.

Draft pick report! The Raiders are the new favorite to earn the No. 1 overall pick. But a bunch of teams remain in the mix! Rams pick acquired from Atlanta has an 88% chance to be in the top 10.
