.45” in the rain gauge, it’ll be business as usual with carts in fairways today for the Spring Open. Enjoy!
Obligatory first greens mow pic. Shaggy even at .140” on a very early March 7th! Soft opening probable next week, question is will the weather hold or snow again?
We’re making up for that rain deficit in all the wrong ways. 5.5” Sunday brings us to 6.5” for the weekend and will keep the course closed for the day. Fireworks remain as scheduled for dusk.
Unfortunately the GC will remain closed for the day today. We’re at 3” and counting… Tomorrow looks much more promising, given time to drain we expect a normal opening on the 3rd.
Might be awhile folks… 1” yesterday afternoon and another 1” and counting this morning.
0.65” in the rain gauge this morning and I’ll take it! Enjoy another beautiful day on the course.

Deep tine on fairways and a light Monday top-dress for greens as we prep for what looks to be a pretty good week!
Try as I might I just can’t make trees play nice with bentgrass. We’ve covered some weak (shady) fairway spots for 2nd winter to help them along.
Trees in front have become a safety issue, time to say goodbye. Amazing they survived this long surrounded by asphalt.
From 80 degrees to snow showers overnight. We’ll try again tomorrow!
Maybe my least favorite thing to do, but it’s inevitable… fire up the irrigation and find the leaks!
Can you ever really have enough tees? Maggie approves the addition on 5 while the crew rough shapes another on 8.
Won’t be long now folks… next week looking a little more promising!

Unfortunately, turf damage from carts driving through drought-stressed areas has been a common observation this year. As you drive through the course, avoid areas that look worn out or stressed. In some cases, cart restrictions may be needed to prevent damage.
So far the rain is staying northwest of us. We’re out ahead with a mow and roll if you want to sneak a few holes in. Expecting storms to move in late morning, but you never know…
