@kariwarburton I love this quote and the talk it is from

There is a phrase in the Book of Mormon that touches me deeply— “They have come up hither to hear the PLEASING WORD OF GOD, yea, the word which HEALETH THE WOUNDED SOUL.” (Jacob 2:8) As we study and discuss the scriptures it is so easy to get caught up in unanswered questions— to get off into the weeds— to worry about things we may not yet understand… and in doing so we miss one of the most important reason we have the scriptures. “To hear the pleasing word of God, the word that HEALS the wounded soul.” We are ALL wounded and need healing… healing that ONLY Jesus Christ can provide. The scriptures are there to bring us to HIM. To bring us to a place of HEALING. To help us become WHOLE. To bring us HOPE and PEACE. The words of LIVING PROPHETS do the same— they bring us words that “heal the wounded soul”. Words that teach us how to become closer to, and more like Jesus Christ. Words cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to be able to sit at the feet of LIVING prophets and apostles and hear the words of Jesus Christ spoken directly us! We are SO BLESSED!!!! “What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.” (Doctrine and Covenants 1:38) Tomorrow is the day, and I CANNOT WAIT!!!

@waitmaya 31 is the answer. 5 seconds.

@BrettWCain My bride and I had a very similar story, just ten years before you and yours. We are going on 22 years married and our seven kids are grown or growing up fast. 100% would recommend. All you need to know to pick your soulmate is whether you both truly and humbly love the Lord.

@altinekasre1 To live scripture is much more valuable than to quote scripture, this is true, but knowing scripture makes it much easier to live it. There is great value in studying and memorizing God’s word. Then, as you said, go out and live it!

@LDS_Dems I have often said the same thing (that there is no one with whom I would trade lives). Except I have 7 amazing kids.

“Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.” ― C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

@NoblestCalling She and her husband were fantastic as mission leaders. And now current mission president in Arkansas Bentonville was sustained as a general authority today. We’ve been very blessed in our mission to have amazing mission leaders.

The work of the Lord is truly progressing in remarkable ways throughout the world.

It was a special privilege for my wife Kristen and me to be in Burley, Idaho today as I officiated in the dedication of the Burley Idaho Temple. We are living in a glorious season of temple building. This temple is our 212th dedicated temple worldwide. More than 150 other temples are in design or under construction. Temples are essential to our Heavenly Father’s plan for His children. In these houses of the Lord, we are taught the most important things we can learn and do in mortality. The scriptures speak of perilous times, when men’s hearts will fail them. They also speak of worthy disciples escaping these things, of their standing in holy places, and not being moved. Surely the times ahead will call for us to remember our temple covenants and to rely on the blessings promised to us. I rejoice with you in the dedication of this Burley Temple. The temple is the House of the Lord, a House built for the sacred work of the Lord God of Israel, our Savior and our Redeemer, to prepare us for exaltation in the celestial kingdom of God.

Brilliant article by @profplum99 - I don’t think this could have been articulated anyway possibly better. yesigiveafig.com/p/part-1-my-li…

It's been 13 years since my family had to tragically say goodbye to my sister Madie. She was a BYU freshman, and she was the kindest person I’ve ever known. I've put pen to paper to explore what I experienced on that worst day of my life: "We live in a world where tragedy and miracles are often juxtaposed right next to each other... Sometimes miracles are simply the work of the Lord. Sometimes miracles are the work of the Lord, facilitated by people rising to the occasion. And sometimes people are the miracles that make good things happen." linkedin.com/pulse/coexiste…

One of the highlights of my 2024 was having the opportunity to meet with @OaksDallinH and his wife Kristin, along with fellow first-time political candidate and new friend at the time, @verona_mauga. Pres. Oaks and Kristin had been briefed on both Verona and me prior to our meeting. When he shook my hand and greeted me, saying my name, his eyes were full of warmth, love, and encouragement that pierced me to my core. Words cannot do that moment justice — it was unlike anything I have ever experienced. No politics were discussed. However, during the conversation, Pres. Oaks shared stories of his mother’s civic service in Provo and what an impact her public service had on him. He was elated to see us running for office and becoming friends across the aisle from each other. He counseled us together and individually. And Kristin was just as loving and encouraging and organically knew how to small talk with each of us when the other was having a 1:1 moment with him. I am so grateful to have had that remarkable experience. I’m lucky and blessed, and grateful to have shared it with such a good woman as Verona. We walked into that meeting as new friends. We walked out of that meeting as sisters in Christ. I bear witness that Pres. Dallin H. Oaks is a special witness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that because of my own experience — I cannot deny what I felt in those moments with him. And now, Dallin H. Oaks is the President and Prophet of @Ch_JesusChrist. I sustain Pres. Oaks in his new calling and look forward to seeing how he leads as the Lord’s spokesperson on the Earth today.

@Ch_JesusChrist @OaksDallinH Sustained! We are praying for them

@moroni_memer I don’t post much, but the story of my first powerful witness of the Book of Mormon is very similar to yours. I learned years later that my father’s is similar too. I’m grateful that young men age 11 have a powerful motive to gain a testimony.

If you’ve been reading a lot about the “Mormons,” (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), you’ve no doubt read a lot of conflicting information. If you want to cut through the noise and see what we REALLY preach, how we REALLY live, and who we REALLY worship, you can find that out in your own home with no pressure. You can stream it right into your living room. No one has to know but you. Join us this weekend for our General Conference, where we get counsel from our leaders every six months. We will also be sustaining a new president/prophet after the death of @NelsonRussellM. Take an hour. Take two. Take the day. Take the weekend. But learn for yourself what we believe. Stop letting others do the thinking for you. newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/event/october-…
