In a world of AI, trading from £1 and easily accessible leverage, traditional P/E ratios and RSI metrics won’t work. The market will continue to become more volatile and momentum driven. Why? Well most people will be pulling from the same data sets, AI outputs and the vocal minority. Interestingly, compared to what most people think, I feel the market will become increasingly inefficient as a result. Instead of having thousands of managers doing bottom up fundamental research and independently coming up with conclusions. Most of the flow will be driven by a vocal minority guiding mass retail and even managers, scared to go against the water. What will the market look like? Well we are already seeing it, AI names trading at lower P/E’s than when chatgpt couldn’t even count the number of r characters in strawberry. A rotation out of traditional safe companies to bandwagon treasure chasers. Bonds becoming boring, junk rated the new gold. Where do we now find alpha then. Well you need to read the room, behavioural economics is more important than ever. Seeing through the noise even at -20% drawdowns and acting before the mass catch on. But most importantly, control your trigger finger and remember, no matter how many trading algorithms there are, in the end it’s pvp.

@HormuzLetter Reserve draws are timing, not structurally supply-driven. If Russian barrels stay tied up and refinery constraints persist, the floor on oil is set by those instead of releases.

@KobeissiLetter It’s remarkable how little attention we pay to the foundations of economic measurement. In the UK, GDP revisions overturned years of received wisdom that the country had badly lagged Europe. After policy had already been shaped around that diagnosis.

Bond yields are not suffering because of their metrics or return / risk profile. Euphoria has hit markets - the chase for excess returns. Equity markets with the AI trade have been booming. Allocators moving away from fixed income to equities chasing these returns. 10%+ returns over the past few years for S&P, no wonder even 5% yields arn’t attractive. But tides are shifting, ai is becoming more mature and once depreciation starts hitting balance sheets, huge capex spend, though justified will start to weigh on balance sheets. Q2 2027 will be the time bonds rise again.

@unusual_whales if there was a time to structure your portfolio off the back of this, it would've been 2 years ago when everyone realised US Debt was an existential problem.
