It’s always a treat when you speak to an opposing counsel for the first time & realize they’re not a jerk. Just because our clients hate each other doesn’t mean we can’t have a civilized conversation about how to get the case done AND wish each other a nice weekend.

Friendly reminder that it’s OKAY to choose your family over your work. Don’t feel guilty about wanting to be more of a mom than a lawyer right now. The priority shift this season brings is a perspective our profession NEEDS & should carry on throughout the whole year.

Nobody prepared me for the number of hours I spend spelling out words for my 6 year old, while he follows me around the house all day with a notebook, like I’m a walking, talking dictionary.

I’m grateful my mom lives close & she can help babysit my kids but sometimes I feel more anxious about how they behave around her than when it’s just me with them. She has zero patience so I feel like I have to RACE to discipline them before she is forced to.
