How do people still think asking for help is weakness?
What's easier? Admitting you need help or lying and saying you got this?
It's admitting you need help!
That takes courage!
Having courage is not a weakness!
I hate change, but it's not always bad
Got moved teams unexpectedly.
Current manager: generic "let me know if you need anything" text.
New manager: face-to-face "how do you honestly feel?"
That's real leadership.
When I think of peak masculinity and brotherhood, I think of elite soldiers.
Trust me, when one of them asks for help no one will say "be a man" or see them as weak!
Biggest AHA moment:
We can control much more than we think.
We just focus on the wrong stuff.
Can't control: Others' opinions, outcomes, timing
Can control: Your effort, responses, choices
Shift your focus.
Shift your power.
Stop taking shortcuts. Do the hard work.
Only hard work makes you proud.
Shortcuts give you results.
Hard work gives you identity.
Which one builds lasting confidence?
It always starts small:
One "No"
One day putting yourself first
One time seeking discomfort proactively
This is just the beginning.
Big changes come from small consistent choices.
Your next "No" could change everything.
If friends do something in your house you don't like and say "but I'm your friend, it's okay if I do it" - they're not your friends.
True friends respect your rules MORE, not less.
Friendship isn't a license to disrespect boundaries.
Are you actually giving it your all?
Or are you giving what feels comfortable while telling yourself it's "your all"?
There's a difference between trying hard and trying everything.
Most of us haven't even touched our real limits.
We often play down our own reactions not because we think they're wrong, but because we're scared of the consequences if we don't.
Your reactions are valid.
Your fear of expressing them is learned.
Start small. Start safe. But start.
If you think you're meant to feel happy, excited, and easy-going each day, you watch too much TV.
Real life includes:
- Bad days
- Frustration
- Boredom
- Confusion
The goal isn't constant happiness.
It's learning to navigate all emotions.
There will be times when you think you've had no breakthroughs.
Trust me, in retrospect you'll find many.
Progress is often invisible in the moment.
It only becomes clear when you look back.
Keep going even when you can't see it.
Your need to improve everything is holding you back.
Not everything needs to be improved.
Some things just need to be accepted.
Some things just need to be enjoyed.
Perfectionism disguised as growth is still perfectionism.
You can't control how your body responds to stress.
But you can control how long it lasts.
Your nervous system needs time to reset after a fallout.
Routines help you get back faster and not fall as far.
Recovery is a skill.
I hate change. If you do too:
Next time something changes, instead of getting annoyed, write down every positive aspect of it, no matter how small.
Your brain needs evidence that change can be good.
Give it that evidence.
