If we understand the human body as a complex system, health management shouldn’t be about constantly adding more interventions. It should start with understanding how different variables interact. Of course, that’s easier said than done. For most people, the best approach is to make sure health protocols don’t become a burden in themselves.

In East Asian Confucian culture, filial piety has long been a core ethical value. Confucianism regards it as the foundation of virtue. In the Analects, Youzi writes that filial piety and respect for elders are the roots of ren (benevolence). The saying “Of all virtues, filial piety comes first” has long been part of everyday cultural wisdom. Multigenerational households, shared responsibility for caring for aging parents, and ancestor worship have all been longstanding traditions across East Asia. Even as these societies age, the expectation that children should care for their parents remains deeply rooted. So, while “temporary children” services do exist, I see them as a niche phenomenon for now. Whether they will become a widespread trend is far less certain. Given the cultural expectations surrounding filial piety, I think that would be difficult.
