Rough few weeks, my health issues, my 10yr old’s bully saying “Are you deaf, I said I want to kill you, stupid idiot” school, police involved. Her tics are so bad, leaving her exhausted. Lying here crying because I can’t fix it and it kills me to see her hurting. It’s too much.

My 10yr old is going on a field trip today to see The Jazz Nutcracker, created by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, who transformed the Tchaikovsky ballet into a new and strikingly American piece of work. So excited to hear all about it!

We were watching a show about oceans before school and my 6yo asked what “abyss” means. Gave her the short definition, “deep, dark & empty.” For most the abyss would cause uneasiness, perhaps a tremble of fear. She just shrugged and said, “sassy.” This generation scares me.
